The first freight train linking China and the UK arrived in the eastern Chinese city of Yiwu at around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, after a 12,000-kilometer, 18-day long trip. It is the first time a China Railway Express train has departed from London and returned to China, with 32 containers carrying UK-made goods. The train marks the extension of the Belt and Road Initiative into the westernmost region of Europe.
