In 1884, Busoni adapted it into variations c minor prelude, , based on Chopin's "c Minor Prelude" Op.28-20 . The main tune is c minor, was originally formed by Chopin Prelude c minor theme, eighteen Variations and Fugue , because it was too long, the composer changed eighteen themes into nine themes . This work is one of Busoni's piano masterpieces, can compare with Rachmaninoff's same Variations . And its exciting Fugue demonstrates the composer's composition techniques.
