Austria's Donauinselfest music festival attractsrecord 3.3 mln visitors

The 32nd Donauinselfest (Danube Island Fest) held here over the weekend, attracting arecord 3.3 million visitors, its organizers said on June 29.

The previous attendance record for the annual three-day open-air music festival, one of thelargest in Europe, was 3.2 million in 2013.

Festival organizer Thomas Waldner said the atmosphere on all three days was "incredible,"with good weather and well-behaved crowds.

Police also reported a "relatively uneventful" festival in terms of their efforts compared toprevious years, with a small number of incidents mainly involving thefts and infringements offestival drug and alcohol policy reported.
